The memory representations are related to questions of identity and structures of identity, because they shed light on not only the past but also reflect on the construction of the actual past. In our multicultural societies, the visual representations of memory seem to question the individual identities (Stories of Sand Hyacinthe Combari 2004 ; Body Plunged by Raoul Peck 1998 ; Ezra Newton Aduaka 2006), as well as collective (Camp Thiaroye of Sembene Ousmane 1988 ; Summer 62 of Medhi Charef 2006 ; Africa United by Eric Kabera 2010).
