Dr. Eid previously taught in the University of Regina\u2019s School of Journalism in Regina, Saskatchewan, and in Carleton University\u2019s School of Journalism and Communication in Ottawa, Ontario. His professional expertise lies in quantitative and qualitative research regarding the effects of mass media and social development. His teaching experience, research interests, and publications concentrate on international communication, media studies, communication research methods, terrorism, crisis management and conflict resolution, modernity, and the political economy of communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Eid is the editor of&nbsp;<em>Global Media Journal \u2014 Canadian Edition<\/em>. He is the series editor of&nbsp;<em>Communication Research Methods: Quantitative and Qualitative Approaches,<\/em>&nbsp;the editor of&nbsp;<em>Cybercultures,<\/em>&nbsp;and co-editor of&nbsp;<em>Introduction to Media Studies.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Eid\u2019s current research aims at developing rational choices and strategies for Canadian communication decision-makers to use when faced with various potential&nbsp;<em>transnational<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>internal<\/em>&nbsp;terrorist situations.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mahmoud Eid\u00a0is an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication, University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
