The Promised Land Project : Why Americans interested in the African-Canadians in the middle of the Nineteenth century ?

We welcome everyone to our conference – take a chair, have fun, express your opinion. The presentation, in French, will last 30 minutes and will be followed by a period of questions and answers bilingual.

The underground railroad : This presentation is the result of a project funded by the SSHRC, for which Dr. B béri is principal investigator. The project is called "The Promised Land: The Freedom Experience of Blacks in Chatham and Dawn Settlements," and focuses on "historical amnesia" of Canada vis-à-vis the contributions of the pioneers black of the Nineteenth century, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, and the role played by a multicultural group of Blacks, Whites, and Indigenous peoples to put an end to slavery and the fight for civil rights in Canada, the United States and abroad.
